Are... Wah!!! what a race....

It was almost noon when I reached Chengannor, a small town in the south eastern part of Kerala. I was on my way to Aranmula, which is nearly 10 kms from Chengannor, to view the snake boat race. The snake boat race of Aranmula has a speciality. It is related to the Aranmula Temple and Aranmula Appan, the diety. The snake boat race here have already created a local festival mood and people from far away areas had reached there to view the huge boats and enjoy the race.

When i reached the banks of pamba river ( its here the race took place) it was almost crowded. People were making enjoyable sounds and singing the Vanchipattu ( the boat song). thithi thi thi thi they they thaka tha....

The boats came in four tracks and firstly the boat possession took place in the river. Then the priliminary round started. Those won in the priliminary raced in the semi finals. In the final there were three boats. Mallapuzhasseri, Nedumprayar and kizhukara.

The race started. The spirit of people become uncontrollable. In the neck to neck fight mallapuzhasseri finished first, kizhukara second and nedumprayar last.

Tension... Tension... Tension. U BACHELOR people have not experienced this tension. she is in the hospital. she means my wife. her delivery date is nearing. And i took a long leave and waiting for the little one. days are passing. a few times she was taken to the labour room but returned like nothing happend.

i stayed in the room egerly waiting for the happy news, but in vain. july 6. it was a cool day. she was again taken to the labour room. my wife was also upset bcoz nothing is happening and the wait for the new baby in getting endless. she even expressed her willingness for a sicerian.

it was 12.30 noon. and there came the news. baby girl. i was in the room. ran downstares. after a few minutes my little cutie was brought out of the labour room. i walked towards her. the little angel wrapped in a white cloth opened her eyes and looked at me. she opened her mouth as she want to say something to me. by her lip movements i guss it as ' thank you father'.

A difficult decision

It was really a tough decision, to quit the job immediately. I was thinking of it for the past few months. But last month i gave the resignation letter and step out of the office. waht prompted me to take this decision? is it bcoz of the new offer from a very new magazine. did there package attracted me? ofcourse it attracted me. but it was not the primary cause for qutting the establishment that i was working for the past four years.

I was not able to adapt with the new concepts introduced by them. but dont think that i am still in my old shirts. i hav got ideas and i am enthusiastic to prove a point. but the platform was not there. it is exactly that which atlast forced me to take this difficult decision.

am i satisfied now? i think its a stupid question to ask at this stage. anyway i am now getting more time to spend with my family. and i am satisfied.

what happend to these guys

i was wondering what happend to the youth of india while watching NDTV after the birth of a new year. it is quiet natural for the youth to celebrate the new year. but there should be some restrictions for all these celebrations. molesting  women is not a good sign of celebration. such things happened in many places in india on the eve of new year, even in kerala where people are considered to be the most literate. to stop such things happening again, hard punishments should be given to the culprits.
